Dad Update

The most recent news since Dad moved to the Transitional Care Unit is boilerplate.

Most stays in the TCU are under ten days.  He can only stay there as long as his insurance, Medicare, will pay for him to stay.  That’s generally about two weeks.  So after that, he gets to go home.

The good news is that they anticipate that he will be ready to go home by that time.  Pardon my cynicism, but I don’t think that this is a coincidence.  I really thought he’d be discharged to skilled-nursing home for a while for more recovery before they sent him home.

They do patient evaluations on Tuesdays and Thursdays to update medical orders and therapy notes.  I can attend these evaluations.  I’ll go to the one next Tuesday and see what state his recovery is at.
