- Some Pundits Begin to Question Detaining of Pirate Leadership – For my part, I question the lack of drumhead courts-martial and hangings from yardarms. But that’s just me.
- FBI Hostage Negotiator Involved In Quest Incident – Apparently there was an FBI negotiator involved in the Quest incident. Further, two representatives of the pirates boarded the USS Sterret for those negotiations. When the Americans decided the pirates “weren’t serious,” the pirates were detained. Further down int he article are quotes from people other pirates about the action and results.
- Pirates Claim US Navy Fired First – A spokesman for the pirate group responsible for the murders aboard the Quest claims that they had no intention to harm the hostages until the US Navy started shooting.
- Pirates Digging In – After the violent end to the hijacking of the Quest, pirates and warlords in the region shout defiant words and add more ammunition to currently held vessels.
